Dragobete
Villages all over Romania
A Romanian tradition running older than Valentine’s Day, this event celebrates love and its guardian, Dragobete (identified with Cupid, the Roman god of love and Eros, his Greek counterpart). This day marks the first day of spring and the beginning of the birds matting season.
